Finally after getting results for almost every competitive exams we have the first official ranking of colleges for 2009 ... from India Today...

Overall It has been quiet an eventful year for Engineering Colleges.. placements getting affected in all top notch colleges, and awful in case of 2nd or 3rd tier collegs of India. Due to the financial crisis and lehman brothers debacle in 2008 even the placements of IIT's have seen a dip from previous years. Though at the end of it all turned out to be good for these colleges.
2008-2009 has changed a lot of things, craze about investment banking have dipped , number of students opting for Goverment sectors/Core sectors have increased, now peole are taking more concious decisions for their careers. As far as i believe there was a trend way back that the creme' da creme of the top colleges used to go into govt sector jobs as the opportunities in private sectore were limited , then came the trend BOOM IT, students from every branch was eager to join IT sector leaving the core sector deprived of resources and talent.. now then trend has changed again... for the long term benefits....of all....

do these guys even know about a coleege named Indian school of mines, Dhanbad where admissions are done through iit-jee ...to which outlook has given 11th rank overall n 1o th rank in govt. colleges list...n toi dont hav ISM even in dere top 5o list..its disgusting becoz people trust on such brand name agency n they dont do there wok well...
where the hell is IIIT-A , after having a very good placement even in this session where avg was over 5.5 ....sluggish
hey1 man if u hv so many objections than why don,t u start ranking the colleges???first look at best magazines in india than dare to right something against india today. and by the way iam just letting u know that iam studying in vi only and i know what,s there not you. just mind it plz.
hey u buddies........we all know that VIT is an asshole university......it stands for "very irritating thikana".....so u dont have to mind it being placed in no 10 position.....also IT has been consistently ranked as the worst survey conducting body in india......

This ranking has bias as premier institution like HBTI, Kanpur has been left out.
HBTI Kanpur is premier engineering college with excellent faculty, superb placement record, with its alumni in influential positions in India and abroad.It has been consistent performer , having its glorious history starting from 1921
IIIT-A would have secured top 10 ranks even this year, had it participated in the survey...
These ranking seems to be biased as IIITA has not been put in TOP 25 slot.
